چکیده

We study approximative identities In(f)(x) = 1 2 Z ? n(u)f(x ? u) du with positive even trigonometric polynomials n of degree n as kernels. It is well known that in general the approximants In(f) are norm convergent to f with order at most n ?2 and that convergence for the test function f(x) = (2 sin(x=2)) 2 at x = 0 implies norm convergence for a wide class of functions f. We discuss the order of convergence at x = 0 for (2 sin(x=2)) 2r where r 1 is an integer and characterize kernels n which produce best convergence. This leads to estimates of the type Z ? n(u)juj 2r du = O(n ?2r) which arise e.g. in the investigation of the degree of approximation of diierentiable functions. Generalized Jackson kernels will be shown to have the same (best possible) rate of convergence. All the kernels discussed are suitable for approximative identities. Topological structure on generalized approximation space related to n-arry relation

Classical structure of rough set theory was first formulated by Z. Pawlak in [6]. The foundation of its object classification is an equivalence binary relation and equivalence classes. The upper and lower approximation operations are two core notions in rough set theory. They can also be seenas a closure operator and an interior operator of the topology induced by an equivalence relation on a u...

Approximation numbers of integral operators on the sphere

This work derives sharp estimates for approximation numbers of positive integral operators on the sphere when the generating kernel satisfies an abstract Hölder condition defined by spherical convolutions with uniformly bounded bi-zonal kernels. The estimates are obtained via finite rank operators defined by both, certain generalized Jackson kernels and the operators appearing in the Hölder con...

On approximation properties of sampling operators defined by dilated kernels

In this paper we consider some generalized Shannon sampling operators, which are defined by band-limited kernels. In particular, we use dilated versions of some previously known kernels. We give also some examples of using sampling operators with dilated kernels in imaging applications.

Rate of Convergence of the Fluid Approximation for Generalized Jackson Networks

It is known that a generalized open Jackson queueing network after appropriate scaling (in both time and space) converges almost surely to a uid network under the uniform topology. Under the same topology, we show that the distance between the scaled queue length process of the queueing network and the uid level process of the corresponding uid network converges to zero in probability at an exp...

Jackson Kernels: a Tool for Analysing the Decay of Eigenvalue Sequences of Integral Operators on the Sphere

Decay rates for the sequence of eigenvalues of positive and compact integral operators have been largely investigated for a long time in the literature. In this paper, the focus will be on positive integral operators acting on square integrable functions on the unit sphere and generated by a kernel satisfying a Hölder type assumption defined by average operators. In the approach to be presented...
